Just next door is the West Loudoun Equestrian Centre. You can enjoy a horseback trail ride or lesson, learn a bit about the racehorses that get trained there, and visit the tack shop.
WALKING & CYCLING
You'll be staying literally right on the Irvine Valley Paths Network - along the 'Grougar Walk' with a dyke walk in one direction and the Burnbank Loch 'swan pond' in the other.
WILDLIFE SPOTTING
You never know what might happen to see while sitting on the deck. This year we've seen deer, stoat, heron, hares, owls and other birds of prey like buzzards, and quite a few newts. We tend to see bats, frogs, toads, pheasants almost daily, as well as tiny fish in the burn.
TREE TOP TRIALS
Brave the high wire and zipline obstacle course just 10 minutes away at Craufurdland Castle, where you can finish your session at the amazing Laird's Table restaurant.
WHITELEE WINDFARM
The UK's largest onshore windfarm is 20 mins away, with 120 km of trails and visitor centre

Cowan's Law, 15 mins away - also offers clay shooting, air rifles and archery
